General mechanical inspection
Full check-up of your vehicle’s condition, or an inspection before buying a used vehicle.
Service description
A general mechanical inspection is a complete examination of your vehicle by a mechanic. We check the engine, transmission, brakes and suspension, look for hidden corrosion and read the fault codes. It can be a check-up of your own vehicle, for example before a long trip or a sale, or an assessment of a used vehicle before you buy it.
Why does it matter?
Many mechanical problems can’t be seen on a simple test drive: structural rust, leaks or parts close to their limit. A complete inspection on a lift tells you the real condition of the vehicle. For your own vehicle, it lets you plan repairs before they become urgent and hit the road with peace of mind. For a used vehicle, it helps you negotiate the price knowing the facts and avoid unpleasant surprises.

When to plan this service?
| Item | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Before buying a used vehicle | Always recommended before signing, ideally with a shop that is fully independent from the seller. |
| Before a long road trip | Usually suggested 2 to 3 weeks before a trip of more than 1,000 km, to make sure the vehicle is reliable. |
| Before selling your own vehicle | A recent inspection report often reassures buyers and helps you sell faster and at a fair price. |
