Who we are and who is responsible

garagevanadium.ca is operated by Garage mécanique Auto Vanadium Inc., 525 Le Breton Street, Longueuil, Québec J4G 1R9.

Information we collect

• Booking: name, phone, email, vehicle make, model and year, requested services, problem description, chosen date and time.
• Contact form: name, phone, email, vehicle, subject and message.
• Technical data: IP address and browser type are processed by our host to keep the site secure.
• Cookies: see the Cookies section.

We only collect what is needed for the purposes below.

Why we use it

• To manage your appointments and send confirmations and reminders.
• To answer your questions and prepare estimates.
• To keep the site secure and working.

We do not sell your information or use it for advertising without your explicit consent.

Your consent

You consent by checking the box in our forms. You can withdraw consent at any time by writing to us, except for information the law requires us to keep (such as invoices).

Service providers and third parties

We use the following providers, who process your information on our behalf only:

• Cloudflare: hosting of the site and appointment database, and protection against bots.
• Google (Gmail and Google Calendar) and our email delivery service: receiving your messages and sending appointment confirmations.
• Google: map display, only if you accept.

Some providers may store information outside Québec. Before sharing information with them, we assess that the protection is adequate, as the law requires.

Retention

• Contact requests: 12 months after the last exchange.
• Appointments and vehicle history: 3 years after your last visit, to follow up on maintenance and work warranties.
• Invoices and accounting records: 6 years after the end of the tax year concerned, as tax law requires.

At the end of these periods, information is securely destroyed or anonymized.

Security

The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to information is limited to people who need it, and the shop’s management area requires a login.

Cookies

• Essential: keep your language and cookie choices. Always on.
• Statistics: help us understand how the site is used. Off by default.
• Third-party content: allow embedded content, such as the Google map. Off by default.

You can change your choices at any time with the “Manage cookies” link at the bottom of every page.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction or deletion of your information, and withdraw consent. Write to info@garagevanadium.ca. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

Privacy incidents

We keep a register of privacy incidents. If an incident presents a risk of serious harm, we notify the Commission d’accès à l’information and the people affected.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
